  9. After about six months I finally got around releasing the v4.6 update. It
  10. has seen the usual bit of cosmetic changes, enhancements and bug-fixes.
  11. Also, I spent considerable time to clean up the cruft that had collected
  12. over the years: `term' v4.6 is the first release that's actually a lot
  13. shorter than the previous release. Thanks go to all the beta testers who
  14. gave the twelve beta releases a good testing, including Andreas Kirchwitz
  15. who takes care of uploading the distribution to Aminet. I wish I could have
  16. spent more time on `term', but other matters were taking up a lot of my time.
  17. I'd rather release v4.6 now than waiting any longer. I hope to take care of
  18. all the letters and messages sent to me in the previous months now.

  20. Here is an excerpt from the term-roadmap.txt file, you will be able to find
  21. the whole set on Aminet under comm/term as soon as possible. For a complete
  22. list of changes, just send a message to me and ask for it. Note: there is no
  23. PostScript documentation this time since I didn't succeed in feeding the
  24. document source into TeX. Maybe next time :-/

  28. This  archive  contains  all you need to run `term' on your Amiga. Only the
  29. basic set of libraries and documentation files are included. If you wish to
  30. use    other   external   transfer   transfer   protocol   libraries   than
  31. xprzmodem.library  or  need  to  use  special  external  terminal emulation
  32. libraries you should download the term-libs.lha archive. More documentation
  33. files can be found in the term-doc.lha archive.

  41. special  external  terminal  emulation  libraries  you  should download the
  42. term-libs.lha  archive.  More  documentation  files  can  be  found  in the

  48. for browsing with MultiView and the like and additional documentation files
  49. for the file transfer and terminal emulation libraries.

  53. This   archive   contains  special  support  libraries  which  enhance  the
  54. functionality  of  `term'.  These are terminal emulation libraries and file
  55. transfer  protocol libraries. It definitely is a good idea to download this
  56. archive if you don't have these libraries around already.

  60. This  archive  contains  extra material that is not absolutely necessary to
  61. run  `term'  v4.6, but may still either be fun to have around or adds extra
  62. functionality. Included are revision 6 of the Hydracom Amiga port which can
  63. be  used  with  `term'  (note:  Hydracom  is  a bidirectional file transfer
  64. protocol  similar  to bimodem), sample ARexx scripts, character translation
  65. tables and sound files.

  69. This  archive  contains  the  user  interface text, translated into Danish,
  70. Dutch,  French,  German,  Italian,  Spanish and Swedish and a blank catalog
  71. translation  table  file  to  fill  in. Download this file only if you want
  72. `term'  to  use  Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish or Swedish
  73. user  interface  text  (Workbench 2.1 or Workbench 3.x required) or wish to
  74. translate the user interface text into your preferred language.

  78. This  archive  contains  the  source  code  to  the  entire `term' project,
  79. including  the  new  user  interface  support  library.  This is by far the
  80. largest  archive in the distribution, so think carefully if you really need
  81. to download it.

  85. This  archive  contains  the  main program documentation in TeX DVI format,
  86. suitable  for  printing  on  a TeX setup. Download this archive only if you
  87. wish to create a printed manual.
